Celebrity Planet: Reese Witherspoon, Brad Pitt & More!

After a false start, things seem to be going really well between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal. In fact, the sweethearts just got back from a trip to Mexico, where they vacationed with Reese's two kids, Ava and Deacon. Us Magazine reports that Jake's input had been invaluable to Reese in the year that they've been dating — especially when it comes to going green.

"He's encouraged her to be organic," an insider told the mag of the actress, who now fills her pantry with organic groceries. "She feels healthy and loves her new lifestyle, thanks to Jake."

Reese also played do-gooder this week — along with other bold-faced names like Mariah Carey, Bono and, yes, Brad Pitt — in Idol Gives Back. The musical special took place to raise awareness and funds to benefit various charities. For her part, Reese visited a New Orleans school where at-risk children learn to become community leaders.

Kudos to all who participated... though I could have done without Teri Hatcher singing. Yikes — what was that about?

While going through my celebrity glossies this week, I found a photo of Aussie beauty Elle Macpherson shopping shopping for fruit at London's Planet Organic store last week. Elle is a known for being a big consumer of organic products and she supports various green organizations like the Soil Association.

"I feel happy that I can feed my family food that avoids unnecessary pesticides and harmful food additives," Elle has said. "I'd encourage anyone who hasn't yet tried organic food to give it a go. I'm sure that, like me, you'll enjoy the taste and the quality."

I'm sure her personal plea could get a few guys to convert.

Jessica Alba had her baby shower over the weekend and the eco-chic chick pulled up at the event — held at Ever After Teahouse in Studio City, Calif. — in a hybrid SUV. Jessica, who is said to being having a daughter that she'll name Honor, is loading up on green products from Bel Bambini boutique for her baby's nursery.

Among the gifts on her wish list? A Cariboo Classic Bassinet — a gorgeous, handcrafted bed for baby that's made in New Zealand with sustainable wood and has organic wool lining.

Never mind how much pollution is generated by shipping that sucker over from New Zealand. Hey, it's the thought that counts.

While Pat Sajak struggles to understand the concept of global warming, fellow game show host Tom Bergeron is living the green life — on TV anyway.

The emcee of shows like Dancing with the Stars and Hollywood Squares is the host of one of Planet Green's first original series called Supper Club, in which a group of famous greenies get together for eco-friendly conversation over an organic food dinner. He invited Access Hollywood into the eco-friendly house where the show will be filmed.

"Everything in this house — if you can walk on it, if you can turn it on, if you can run water though it, if you can touch, it's been built with a real focus on its carbon footprint with the environment in mind," Tom explained during the house tour, while showing off LED lights and a motion-censored water faucet.

He said his dream guest list for Supper Club includes George Clooney, Al Gore and a chef like Emeril or Wolfgang Puck.

Dinner with Clooney? Heck, I don't want to watch — I want to be invited!
