Nicole Kidman's baby bump may have grown slowly — prompting bloggers to speculate if it was real — but her organic garden has really taken off.
Nic, who's going to give birth this summer, appears on the July cover of Vogue and talks inside about her upcoming movie Australia (Hugh Jackman's in it), being pregnant and her pesticide-free veggies.
"I've been in Tennessee, just sitting," Mrs. Keith Urban, who has two adopted children with Tom Cruise, told the mag. "We have a farm there, and I have an organic vegetable garden. This is a path I'd not taken before. My mum's always gardened. My sister gardens. And I've now conformed to the Kidman women's hobby of gardening. And it is just a hobby. I'm not feeding the troops." She laughs. "There's a softness to the Tennessee landscape that I just love. It's very beautiful out there. We have deer and wild turkeys."
Wild turkey, huh? Pretty nice of Keith to allow Nic's ex-husband to live on the property... though I though he was living in L.A. with Katie Holmes.
PETA announced their picks for World's Sexiest Vegetarians. Drum roll please... Leona Lewis and Anthony Kiedis.
Leona, who won the UK TV talent show The X Factor, says she doesn't have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather, suede or any animal products. "I'm on a mission," Leona she said. "I am totally against animal cruelty."
Meanwhile the Red Hot Chili Peppers musician recently went vegan after learning about the worldwide depletion of fish in the oceans and after his baby's doctor recommended a vegan diet for his child. "Soon after I [went vegan], I saw some documentary footage of what happens in the factory farming of cows …. It sealed the deal," Anthony said.
PETA also weighed in on Jessica Simpson being photographed wearing a shirt that read: "Real girls eat meat."
"Jessica Simpson's meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken-of-the-Sea, anyone?" a PETA rep said to Us. "The woman who thought that Buffalo 'Wings' came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food."
Make it a double order!
This week, Star magazine outed High School Musical's Zac Efron for not showering as often as he should — 20-year-old heartthrob admitted to friends that he often "goes days without washing thoroughly" — but we think he deserves a round of applause for conserving water. His girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, may not agree.
Three cheers to Britney Spears who shockingly flew commercial this week. The private plane loving pop tart hopped a Delta flight to Louisiana to be home in time for her 17-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, to give birth. Auntie Britney's new niece, born June 19, is named Maddie Briann.
Now that summer is here, more stars are hopping on their bikes — instead of into cars — and preventing pollution. Off-again/on-again couple Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli were photographed cycling around Boston last weekend. Leo is there filming Shutter Island with Michelle Williams. Across the pond, Elle "The Body" Macpherson has been staying in shape by biking all over London. She regularly picks up her son on her two wheels.
Speaking of two wheels, in the new issue of People — spotlighting Hollywood's hottest bachelors — model Tyson Beckford tells the mag that the most unusual place he's picked up a girl is... a motorcycle shop. "Women are riding now, with these gas prices," the hunk told the mag.
Over in Vietnam, the use of scooters are on the rise and Brangelina is getting some of the credit. Apparently after the golden couple was snapped riding around Ho Chi Minh City on a Yamaha Nouvo last year sales increased. I'm sure they'll get a free bike out of it or something. Meanwhile, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina — who still has us on baby watch — made a PSA for World Refugee Day, which is June 20. You can watching the touching tribute here.
Until next week...
