They seem like they should be but there are no recyclable symbols on them. Anyone know?

If you know anyone with laying hens, they'd love to have them. You might find these people at your local farmer's market.

I'm pretty sure the paper ones are compostable, but I don't know about recyclable.
I save mine and give them to my son's preschool. Maybe there's one near you that would welcome the donation? They use them for craft projects. I also give them our yogurt cups, which they use as paint pots. It's not recycling, but it is reusing, which is the middle rung of the 3R's ladder!

Unfortunately, the fiber content of egg cartons is poor, so I don't think recycling is an option. I reuse my egg cartons to start seeds. Edited by: Juniper on May 24, 2008 11:04:23 AM

Gosh, I never really paid attention but I was putting them in recycling all of the time! We have three types of cartons here..plastic, paper and foam. I have a friend now that raises chickens, so I give them all to her to reuse. Sorry I couldn't answer your question!
