I recently finished reading a book I had heard a lot of praise about from some close friends and my Mother. It is called Eat, Pray, Love.

I have never been one to believe in coincidences, and I must say that this book was lent to me at time where it illuminated certain truths from the depth of my soul. Elizabeth Gilbert (the Author) takes you along her fabulous spiritual journey from Italy, to India and then Bali seeking worldly pleasure and devine transcendence. This is my book pick of the year.

What books have inspired you?

From another post I made:

"I really like books where you learn about characters' lives very deeply and experience every emotion they do. Three of my favorites are "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb, "Monkey Hunting" by Christina Garcia, and "The Tattooed Soldier" by Hector Tobar.

I Know This Much Is True has also been made into a film, supposedly due in theatres this year.

I too loved "Eat, Pray, Love" and loved it and found it very inspiring. I just finished "What is the What" by Dave Eggers and found it not only educational but all very inpsiring in terms of how much this young boy had to overcome. It's about this young boy and his experince during Sudan's civil war.

I could create a book containing lists of inspiring books!

Right now I really I love the book, Simple Light: Wisdom from a Woman's Heart by Karen Berg.

It contains little jewels of spiritual wisdom.
