In my quest to find small wind, urban turbines manufacturer stateside, I have recently become aware of the debate been vertical and horizontal wind turbine design.

A recent article in Mother Earth News http://www.motherearthnews.com/Renewable-Energy/2008-02-01/Wind-Power-Horizontal-and-Vertical-Axis-Wind-Turbines.aspx seemed to disapprove of  vertical turbines, yet my research on stateside companies providing turbines (micro) has been most fruitful in this design area.
