I recently started simply walking around lunch time again. It's amazing how a simple stroll can brighten a long or hectic day and energize your soul. The act of walking or running provides a connection to my inner self in such a way that it feels like meditation. Granted, this is when you take the time to focus on your breathing, the way the air smells and feels when it fills your lungs, and appreciate the simple gift of movement. I am thankful that some of the simplest things we as humans can do are not only good for your health, but wonderful for your mind and spirit. Years before I became a "yogi" I had a hard time making this connection. Now I have the fortune of experiencing my yoga on or off my mat.Edited by: Joy Jackson, Life & Wellness Coach on Mar 13, 2008 8:26:08 PM |

| Yes Joy-walking is good. I am walking along with my Ti chi pratice. The Ti chi has helped me walk stronger and better --I breath better and walk in a more balanced way. When I first started walking I was unaware that my body was pulling to one side-then after I learned how to aligin my body properly, I was more comfortable and could walk easier and longer. When I walk lately, I meditate on some thing that I am learning in the Ti Chi classics. "Being sick of sickness is not being sick" Lau Tsu |
