Recent studies have shown that meditation is good for the brain; it helps to increase gray matter, improve the immune system, reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. Now a study shows that it also helps to improve attention.
Over the course of three-months, 17 people with no prior meditation experience meditated for 10-12 hours a day. Results showed that they appeared to have the ability to release thoughts that pop into mind, freeing the brain to attend to more rapidly changing things and events.
One man said that he was a much better listener and didn't get lost in his personal reaction to what others were saying.
So there you have it, folks. If you're having trouble paying attention or concentrating, you may want to step back for a bit and free your thoughts and rest your mind through meditation. You may find that it will help you get through your day better than ever.
Do any of you already use meditation in your daily lives ? |
