Dear jtownchick:
The first step to weight loss is recognizing that you have some weight to lose. From your post, it sounds like you are 80% of the way there! The next 20% is action, putting your thoughts into a plan, making a change. I congratulate you on taking the first step.

Change occurs naturally and any change that is dramatic or involuntary can yield poor results. Starting from the right attitude is getting your heart in the same place as your mind. If you feel like you want to lose weight for the wrong reasons, your heart won't let you proceed! One place to begin is self-respect and realizing that you are perfect with or without the extra weight. So when you put your plan into action it is coming from a place of perfection, a perfection that simply wants to change and not be forced into change for negative reasons.

The gland in your throat is the thyroid gland. If you have low thyroid hormone, it would only account for 5 to 10 extra pounds, it's not a dramatic shift in weight. You can find out more about your thyroid at www.hormone.org. If you feel like your thyroid is off you should see your doctor who will order blood work to test your TSH levels.

I wish you well on your journey of perfect change.

To keep myself active I write what I do to exercise everyday on a calender.  It gives me a sense of accomplishment and success after every step I take.  I also find it helpful to look at my calender when ever I feel down about myself physically or frustrated about the time it can take to make a difference in my body.

I also wanted to commend you for wanting to be healthy. Those size 2 girls may be small but small doesn't always equal healthy.  What you eat and how you exercise is more important to your body's well being.  In the long run you will be creating better habits that will keep you slim and happy in the future while the bad habits of others tend to amass over time.  Good luck on your goal and upcoming soccer season!

I can relate to you. I weighed about 256 pounds, and never found a diet I could stick with, but my wife found this system that is medically tested and proven to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. At first I was really unsure about it, but she insisted that I try.

It's a good thing I did because since january 8th I've lost 29 pounds and 8 inches from my waist (25 inches total from all over my body). I'm telling you this system is great and I've bcome a believer. I've been more active and had more energy and best of all it's all natural (without caffeine or ephedra). Check it out at http://strongbody.isagenix.com

I used to be sixty pounds heavier.  I made a list of everything in my life that would improve if I finally gave up my overeating habits.  I made new healthy habits like drinking more water, eating low fat foods, more protein, whole grains and I started exercising.  When I was tempted to eat I would drink 8-16 ounces of water and hold off on eating.  I would n't eat after dinner. To really lose weight you have to sweat.  That gets the metabolism in burning mode.   Recently, I started taking Reliv Supplements.  It is a food supplement with the perfect synergy and balance.  By giving my body everything it needs at a cellular level, I don't have cravings and every system in my body is functioning better.

Having a good relationship with food and our body is integral with loving who we are.
