Getting a great work out helps me think!

Sometimes I forget to work out. I just do. I get lazy or frankly bored of my exercise routine. I'll go for some days not doing yoga or going to the gym. Then I'll come into work one day and notice that I'm feeling off. But more importantly, feeling like I've lost my mojo, I've lost my cheerful outlook. It's like I forget to breathe altogether.

Then I go to the gym, or take a class, or pop a dvd into the player, or ride my bike, or go for a hike and it's like the mojo returns FULL FORCE. Exercise forces you to breathe. It makes you take huge gulps of air and force that mental funk out!

Anyone else out there relate to this???

I totally agree. I get caught up in this feeling that I don't have the energy or the time to work out or practice yoga. I know full well that moving my body will increase my energy and allow me to accomplish more in less time. That all that breathing, sweating and moving will move out bad moods, toxins, etc.

I find it fascinating that we don't do the things that we know will make us feel better.

Today, though, I went to a Pilates mat class at lunch, and I feel so expansive and energized. I still have way too much work to do, but somehow it seems more doable.

Yes! I spent the whole winter finding reasons why I couldn't work out, and then once I got back to the gym I felt so much better. Now I've started doing a pilates and yoga session before work every morning, and it makes all the difference to my day.
